Rubus australis G.Forst., commonly known as swamp lawyer, is a climbing plant species native to New Zealand. The Māori name for this plant is tātarāmoa. Its hooked branches let it climb across the ground and up into shrubs and trees. This species produces small white flowers between October and November, and bears fruit that ranges in colour from yellow to red.
