About Roemeria hispida Stace

Scientific name: Roemeria hispida Stace. Roemeria sicula, commonly called the rough poppy or round pricklyhead poppy, is a widely distributed flowering plant species in the poppy family. It is native to the Mediterranean region and western Asia, reaching as far east as the western Himalayas. It has been introduced to most of the remainder of Europe, South Africa, the whole of Australia, some U.S. states, Chile, and Argentina. It is considered a minor weed of cereal crops, and its geographic range is predicted to greatly expand as a result of climate change.
