Rhyothemis graphiptera (Rambur, 1842), commonly called the graphic flutterer or banded flutterer, is a dragonfly species belonging to the family Libellulidae. This species is distributed across northern Australia, the Moluccas, New Guinea, and New Caledonia, while the genus Rhyothemis as a whole ranges from Africa to the western Pacific. Members of the genus Rhyothemis typically have a characteristic fluttering flight. Rhyothemis graphiptera is a medium-sized dragonfly, with a body length of 35mm and a wingspan of 70mm. It lives in lagoons, lakes, ponds, and swamps. This species has a dark abdomen, and brownish-yellow wings marked with dark mottled patterns. Rhyothemis graphiptera has been assessed by the IUCN Red List as a species of least concern, and is listed in the Catalog of Life.
