Rhagadiolus edulis Gaertn. produces yellow flowers that are hermaphrodite (have both male and female reproductive organs). Its floral structures are arranged alternately and are dissected in form. This species is most commonly encountered during the months of April and May, and is most frequently found in France and Spain. It grows in the habitat types of Mediterranean maquis and forest. The fungus Puccinia rhagadioli acts as a fungal parasite that can live within this plant.
