About Reseda phyteuma L.
Reseda phyteuma L. grows to between 10 and 50 centimetres (3.9 to 19.7 inches) in height. It is an annual or perennial plant that produces erect stems, which branch at the base. Its leaves are mostly entire, while the upper leaves each bear two lateral lobes. Its inflorescence can occupy most of the upper stem, and is densely packed with many greenish-white flowers that each have six petals. The flowering period runs from April to September. This species occurs naturally from Central and Southern Europe through Western Asia to North Africa, and is naturalized in Britain. It grows in wastelands, on walls, and in vineyards, at elevations between 0 and 1,000 metres (0 to 3,281 feet) above sea level.
