Renia factiosalis, commonly known as the dark-banded renia or the sociable renia moth, is a litter moth that belongs to the family Erebidae. Francis Walker first formally described this species in 1859. Its distribution ranges from southern Canada to Florida and Texas in North America. This moth has an approximate wingspan of 24 millimeters. Adult moths are active between May and September each year. The number of annual generations varies by region: there is one generation per year in the north-east, two generations per year in Missouri, and multiple generations per year further south. The larvae of this species feed on organic matter, particularly dead leaves.
