About Renia adspergillus Bosc

Renia adspergillus, commonly known as the gray renia or speckled renia moth, is a litter moth that belongs to the family Erebidae. This species was first formally described by Louis Augustin Guillaume Bosc in 1800. It is distributed in North America, occurring from Michigan and Quebec in the north, extending south to Louisiana and Florida. The adult wingspan of this moth is approximately 25 millimeters. In the southeastern portion of its range, this species produces multiple generations per year. Its larvae feed while sheltered beneath a self-spun web of silk.
