This species has been recorded in Australia (including New South Wales), China (including Hong Kong), the Andaman Islands, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. Its wingspan reaches approximately 16 mm. The larvae of Rehimena surusalis bore into the buds of Hibiscus tiliaceus.
