Ranunculus montanus Willd., commonly called the mountain buttercup (a name shared with other members of its genus), is a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae. It is native to mountain regions of central and south-central Europe; there may also be some populations of this species located in the Republic of Karelia, Russia. The cultivar of this species 'Molten Gold' has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
