About Quercus laurina Bonpl.
Quercus laurina Bonpl. is an oak species. It is primarily native to Mexico, ranging from Tamaulipas to Chiapas, and has also been recorded in Guatemala and El Salvador. This species grows as a tree that can reach up to 30 metres (98 feet) in height, with a trunk diameter of up to 50 centimetres (20 inches) or more. Its leaves are thick and leathery, growing up to 15.5 cm (6 in) long and elliptical in shape; some leaves have a few large teeth near the tip. Quercus laurina forms natural hybrids with Quercus affinis.
