About Quercus laceyi Small
Quercus laceyi Small rarely grows over 35 feet (11 meters) tall, and has a stocky trunk. Its blue-green leaves are oblong in shape, and are usually shallowly lobed or completely unlobed; however, leaves growing in shade can be deeply lobed. In autumn, the leaves most often turn yellow or brown. This species has often been confused with Quercus glaucoides, an evergreen oak native to central and southern Mexico. Quercus laceyi is most often found growing in association with limestone outcrops.
