Quercus coccifera L. is most commonly a shrub growing less than 2 metres (6 1โ„2 feet) in height. It rarely grows into a small tree, typically reaching 1โ€“6 metres (3 1โ„2โ€“19 1โ„2 feet) tall. Specimens reaching 10 metres (33 feet) tall have been recorded in Kouf, Libya.
