About Pyrgus carlinae cirsii (Rambur, 1839)

This is Pyrgus carlinae cirsii (Rambur, 1839), described in Seitz as H. carlinae Rambr. (85 h). The underside of its hindwing is reddish brown. The white spots located between veins 2 and 4 are much reduced. In interspace 2, there is a usually rounded white spot that is part of the subterminal band; the rest of this subterminal band is only weakly marked. This subspecies is found in the Alps and the mountains of Arragonia. Adult individuals are active on the wing from June through August.
