Pyrausta grotei is a moth species that belongs to the family Crambidae. It was formally described by Eugene G. Munroe in 1976. This species is native to North America, and has been documented in the U.S. states of Washington, Oregon, Montana, California, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas. The forewings of Pyrausta grotei are dark vinous rosy in color with a brown base, and bear a pale yellow spot on the costa. The hindwings are fuscous. Adult moths of this species have been recorded in flight between the months of April and August.
