About Pyrausta aerealis Hübner, 1793

Pyrausta aerealis is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. It was first described by Jacob Hübner in 1793. This species is present across most of Europe, but it is not found in Portugal, Ireland, Great Britain, the Benelux countries, Norway, the Czech Republic, Croatia, or Hungary. It has also been documented in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, China, and Algeria. The wingspan of adult Pyrausta aerealis ranges from 18 to 26 mm. The larvae of this species feed on plants from the Artemisia vulgaris species, Thymus serpyllum species, and genera including Scrophularia, Gnaphalium, Helichrysum, and Thalictrum.
