Pyracantha fortuneana, also previously classified as Pyracantha crenatoserrata and commonly called Chinese firethorn or Yunnan firethorn, is a species of firethorn. This plant grows as a short shrub. It is cultivated for its decorative bright red pome fruit, which is often inaccurately referred to as berries. Its flowers are white. It grows well in warm climates; it cannot tolerate frost, but it can withstand drought. The species is native to central China, and has become naturalized in parts of Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
