Pygospila costiflexalis Guenée, 1854 differs from the related species Pygospila tyres in several physical characteristics. Its body is cupreous brown with a faint purple tint, and its neck is fulvous. The stripes on its thorax are obscure and brownish, and the spots on its abdomen are small. On the forewing, sub-basal markings are obsolescent, the three submarginal spots are completely absent, and the spots below vein 2 are minute. On the hindwing, the three submarginal spots and the spot below vein 2 are obsolescent. The wingspan of this species is approximately 42 mm.
