Pygarctia murina, commonly known as the mouse-colored euchaetias, is a species of moth belonging to the family Erebidae. This species was first described by Richard Harper Stretch in 1885. In the United States, it can be found in southwestern Utah, across the range from southern Colorado to southeastern California, and in southern Texas. Adults of this species have a wingspan that measures between 26 and 33 mm. Adult moths are active in flight from late July through September. The larvae feed on plants belonging to the genus Euphorbia, and have also been successfully reared on plants from the genus Funastrum. When fully grown, mature larvae reach a length of approximately 22 mm. Pupation occurs inside a silken cocoon that forms within surface debris.
