About Pungeleria capreolaria (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775
Pungeleria capreolaria is a moth species that belongs to the family Geometridae. This species is found in the mountain regions of southern Europe, and also occurs on the Balkan Peninsula and the Caucasus. The wingspan of adult Pungeleria capreolaria measures between 30 and 38 millimeters, which equals 1.2 to 1.5 inches. Adults are active from mid-June to early September, and produce one new generation each year. The larvae of this moth feed on two conifer species: Norway spruce (Picea abies) and silver fir (Abies alba). Pungeleria capreolaria overwinters while in the larval stage.
