Pterostichus adstrictus, formally described by Eschscholtz in 1823, is a species of ground beetle that has a Holarctic distribution. It is widespread across North America, with a range that extends from the coast of the Bering Sea east to Newfoundland, and south to Pennsylvania, Indiana, South Dakota, New Mexico, and the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California. This species can also be found in Europe and Russia.
