About Pterostegia drymarioides Fisch. & C.A.Mey.
Pterostegia drymarioides Fisch. & C.A.Mey. is a very small annual plant that can spread or climb. It has very thin, hairy stems, and its tiny leaves are either lobed or heart-shaped, and may be green or pink in color. The plant can sprawl across the ground as a thin layer, or form scattered small patches. It produces tiny bright pink flowers. This species is native to the western United States, California, Baja California, and northwestern Mexico. It is most commonly found growing as a ground carpet in shady locations, including the understory of cool forests and chaparral woodlands. It sometimes grows hidden beneath other plants, and can also be found in the shaded areas of desert habitats.
