The yellow-necked spurfowl, also called the yellow-necked francolin, has the scientific name Pternistis leucoscepus. It is a bird species belonging to the family Phasianidae. It can be found in Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. This species gets its common name from the yellow patch present on its neck. Males of this species are known to have spurs on the back of their legs.
