About Pseudorchis albida (L.) Á.Löve & D.Löve
Pseudorchis is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the orchid family, Orchidaceae. Its only accepted species is Pseudorchis albida, commonly known as the small white orchid. This species is widespread across much of Europe and northern Asia, ranging from Spain and Iceland east to Kamchatka, with confirmed occurrences in France, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Scandinavia, Ukraine, and most of Russia. It can also be found in Greenland and eastern Canada, specifically in Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador. Three subspecies of Pseudorchis albida are currently recognized. Pseudorchis albida subsp. albida ranges from Spain and Iceland to Kamchatka. Pseudorchis albida subsp. straminea (Fernald) Á.Löve & D.Löve is found in Scandinavia, northern Russia, Greenland, and Canada. Pseudorchis albida subsp. tricuspis (Beck) E.Klein occurs in Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Romania, and the territory of the former Yugoslavia.
