About Pseudoneptis bugandensis Stoneham, 1935
Pseudoneptis is a butterfly genus that belongs to the family Nymphalidae. This genus contains only a single species: Pseudoneptis bugandensis, which is commonly known as the blue sailer or blue sergeant. This species is found in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania, and Zambia. Its habitat includes canopy forests, covering both dry and disturbed forests. It is thought that the larvae of this species feed on Antiaris toxicaria, Ritchiea capparioides, Antiaris africana, and Ficus species, including Ficus asperifolia.
