This plant, scientifically named Pseudognaphalium obtusifolium (L.) Hilliard & B.L.Burtt, is a biennial herb that can reach up to one meter in height. In its first year of growth, the plant forms tightly packed rosettes covered in woolly hair. In its second year, it produces a tall stem with alternate leaves and yellow peg-shaped flowerheads, which grow in clusters. The seeds of this plant are dispersed by wind. Its native habitats are dry clearings, fields, and wood edges.
