About Pseudodictamnus undulatus (Benth.) Salmaki & Siadati
Pseudodictamnus undulatus, commonly called common ballota or horehound, is a flowering plant species in the family Lamiaceae. It is native to the Mediterranean region, including Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. This species is a compact evergreen subshrub with a woody base, many hairy wiry stems, simple opposite leaves with toothed margins, and whorls of white flowers that have funnel-shaped calyxes. It grows in semi-arid, acidic stony habitats, and in Israel it is often found growing alongside Echinops gaillardotii, Carlina corymbosa, and Ziziphus lotus.
