About Pseudelephantopus spicatus (Juss. ex Aubl.) Rohr
Pseudelephantopus spicatus, with the scientific name Pseudelephantopus spicatus (Juss. ex Aubl.) Rohr, is commonly known by the common names dog's-tongue or false elephant's foot. It is native to tropical regions of Mesoamerica, South America, and the West Indies. It has become naturalized in Florida, where it grows mostly on sandy soils. It has also been introduced to Africa, Southeast Asia, and a number of islands in the Pacific. This species is a perennial herb that spreads via underground rhizomes. Its flowers range in color from white to pinkish or purplish.
