Distribution
This species is endemic to inland regions of south-eastern Queensland and north-eastern New South Wales, Australia.
Habitat
Its preferred natural habitats are grassland, shrubland, and savanna.
Reproduction
Like most other snakes, P. guttatus is oviparous, and lays between 7 and 12 eggs per clutch during the breeding season.
