About Prunus triloba Lindl.

Prunus triloba Lindl. is sometimes called flowering plum or flowering almond, a common name that is also used for Prunus jacquemontii. This plant is a shrubby cherry that can sometimes grow into a small tree. Its flowers are pale pink or white, and its red fruits are pubescent, meaning they are covered in soft hair. It is native to China, and grown widely around the world as an ornamental plant. The double-flowered cultivar Prunus triloba 'Multiplex' is the form most commonly found in cultivation, and this cultivar bears double pink flowers. It is often sold under names like 'Rose Tree of China', 'China Rose Tree', or other similar variant names. In China, the stones of Prunus triloba are frequently used to make beaded bracelets.
