About Prunus phaeosticta (Hance) Maxim.

Prunus phaeosticta, commonly known as the dark-spotted cherry, is a plant species native to China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Its native range also includes far eastern India, Bangladesh, Burma, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. Both its scientific specific epithet and common name come from the small dark spots, which are actually glands, located on the undersides of its leaves. The fruit of Prunus phaeosticta is eaten by Formosan rock macaques (Macaca cyclopis).
