About Prunus pedunculata (Pall.) Maxim.

Prunus pedunculata (Pall.) Maxim. is a species of the genus Prunus, called long‑peduncled almond in China. It is native to China (especially the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region), Mongolia, and adjacent parts of Siberia. It is a small bush that grows 1 to 2 meters tall, and its pink flowers make it suitable for use as an ornamental plant. Adapted to cold, arid environments, its multi‑stemmed growth habit traps blowing sand, making it an important contributor to ecological succession. It is also referred to by the synonym Amygdalus pedunculatus Pall., and is currently being evaluated for the potential of its seed oil.
