About Propylea luteopustulata (Mulsant, 1850)

Propylea luteopustulata (Mulsant, 1850) is a species of lady beetle. It has been recorded in India, Nepal, the Himalayas, Tibet, Southern China, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Vietnam. Adult body length ranges from approximately 5 mm to 5.3 mm. The pattern on its elytra is highly variable between individuals. It can be found on two recorded host plants: Bidens pilosa and Galinsoga parviflora. This lady beetle acts as a predator of multiple aphid species, including Aphis craccivora, Aphis gossypii, Aphis rumicis, Brachycaudus helichrysi, Brevicoryne brassicae, Lipaphis pseudobrassicae, and Myzus persicae.
