Prooedema is a monotypic moth genus in the family Crambidae, first described by George Hampson. The genus contains only one species: Prooedema inscisalis, which was originally described by Francis Walker in 1865. This species occurs in India, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and Australia; within Australia, it has been recorded from the Northern Territory and Queensland.
