Prochoerodes lineola (Goeze, 1781), commonly known as the large maple spanworm, is a moth species that belongs to the family Geometridae. Its distribution range extends from Nova Scotia south to Florida, west to Texas, and north to Alberta. The wingspan of this moth measures 35 to 50 millimeters. Adults are active on wing from April to October in the southern portions of its range, and from July to September in the northern portions. The larvae of Prochoerodes lineola feed on the leaves of a wide variety of host plants, including apple, birch, blueberry, cherry, currant, geranium, grass, maple, oak, poplar, soybean, sweetfern, walnut, and willow.
