Dorsal & Throat Coloration
Its back is typically reddish-brown with large grey patches, and it has a dark collar around its throat.
Ventral Coloration
Its underside is paler, and the area around the vent is greenish-yellow.
Body Size
This species reaches a snout-to-vent length of approximately 6 to 11 cm, or 2.4 to 4.3 inches.
Endemic Range
Pristidactylus torquatus is endemic to Chile, where it occurs on the western side of the Andes between 35° and 42° south.
Regional Distribution
It can be found in the Chilean regions of Biobío, La Araucania, and Los Lagos.
Natural Habitat
Its natural habitat is the extensive southern beech (Nothofagus) forests that grow in this temperate climate zone.
