About Prionus laticollis (Drury, 1773)

Identification: Among eastern American species of the genus Prionus, this species can be distinguished by its rugose-punctate elytral texture and antennae that have 12 antennomeres. While some other Prionus species also have 12 antennomeres, they have simple punctate elytra, for example P. pocularis. Other related species have more than 12 antennomeres, such as P. imbricornis.
