Primula sikkimensis Hook., commonly called Himalayan cowslip or Sikkim cowslip, is known as 鍾花報春 in Chinese with the pinyin transcription zhōng huā bàochūn. It is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Primulaceae. This species is native to the Himalayan region, growing at altitudes between 3,200 and 4,400 metres (10,499 to 14,436 feet), with a range extending from western Nepal to southwestern China. It is an herbaceous perennial that reaches 90 cm (35 in) in height and 60 cm (24 in) in width. It produces basal rosettes of leaves, from which slender stems grow in summer.
