About Primula sieboldii É.Morren
Primula sieboldii É.Morren is a perennial herb with fibrous roots. Its leaves grow in a rosette arrangement, and each hairy petiole measures 3.5–12 centimetres (1.4–4.7 in) long. The leaf blade is ovate, hairy, cordate at the base, and both crenate and rounded at the apex. Scapes of this species grow 10–25 centimetres (3.9–9.8 in) tall, and bear an umbel inflorescence holding 5 to 15 flowers. Its sepals form a bell-shaped calyx 0.7 centimetres (0.28 in) long, with spreading, lanceolate lobes. Flowering occurs from April to June, varying by the plant's region and habitat. This species is a heterostylous clonal herb, pollinated by a range of insects including butterflies, syrphids, and bumblebees such as Bombus diversus. Primula sieboldii is an ornamental plant that grows in wet areas and forests across China, Japan, Korea, and Russia.
