About Primula nutans Georgi
Primula nutans Georgi is a perennial plant species. It has green, sub-orbicular leaf blades that are around 2.5 cm long, borne on narrow petioles. Flowers are carried on stalks that stand tall above the foliage. Each plant produces between 2 and 8 blooms. The flower petals are pale pink, shifting to white then yellow toward the flower's centre, and flowers measure 12 to 16 mm in diameter. The native range of Primula nutans extends from the subarctic region to the Himalayas, across parts of Europe and Asia. Confirmed locations where it occurs include the Asian and European countries of China, Finland, Norway, Nepal, Sweden, Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan and Pakistan, as well as the Canadian territory of Yukon and the US state of Alaska. The species was originally native to British Columbia, but it is now locally extinct there. Primula nutans grows in habitats including wet meadows, marshes, and coastal refuges. It can also be found in moraine habitats created by glacial movement, and on rocky outwash plains.
