About Primula auricula L.
Primula auricula L. is an evergreen perennial that grows 20 centimetres (8 inches) tall and 25 centimetres (10 inches) wide. Its leaves are obovate, stalkless, and have a cartilaginous edge; all leaves grow in a basal rosette, and are sometimes covered in a mealy white bloom. Yellow flowers grow in clusters on stalks that are 5–20 centimetres (2–8 inches) long. The specific epithet auricula, which means "ear-shaped", refers to the shape of this plant's leaves. This plant has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. In the United Kingdom, two National Collections of auriculas are held by Hillview Hardy Plants nursery, on a 1 acre (0.4 ha) plot located in Worfield, Shropshire.
