About Primula algida Adams

Primula algida Adams is a perennial flowering plant in the genus Primula. This species reaches 3 to 20 centimeters in height when flowering, held up by its flowering stem. Its leaves are elliptic in shape, and measure between 1 and 6 centimeters long. Each stem bears 4 or more flowers, whose color ranges from mauve to violet. The roots of Primula algida are thin and white. Its native distribution covers the Caucasus, Northern Iran, Northern Altai Republic, Mongolia, Pamir-Alay, and Afghanistan. It grows in moist, grassy areas of alpine regions and wet meadows. It can also be found growing on south-facing rock ledges, cliffs, and slopes. This species occurs at elevations between 2000 and 7000 meters above sea level.
