About Pothos longipes Schott

Pothos longipes Schott is a slender climber or hemi-epiphyte with glossy leaves. Individual leaves measure 1.5 to 5 cm long and 5 to 15 mm wide. Leaves are flattened, with a visible wasp-waist constriction at the point where the flattened petiole meets the leaf blade. Flowering occurs from late spring to early summer. Flowers are greenish or purple, with a lanceolate-shaped spathe that grows 25 mm long. The spadix is yellowish, cylindrical, and can reach up to 6 cm long. Flowers are usually solitary, growing on a 5 cm stem. The fruit this species produces is a red drupe 8 to 13 mm long. Germinating fresh seed of this species is not particularly difficult.
