About Potentilla marinensis (Elmer) Howell

Potentilla marinensis is a perennial herb that grows in low, dense patches. Its leaves can reach up to 10 centimeters in length, and are composed of toothed, hairy, gray-green leaflets, each around one centimeter long. The foliage is glandular and has a strong scent. This plant produces green to reddish-green stems that grow up to 30 centimeters long; these stems hold dense clustered flower inflorescences. Each flower has tiny bractlets positioned beneath reddish-green, fuzzy sepals. Its petals are typically white, narrow, and have rounded ends. The center of the flower holds a ring of stamens surrounding a cluster of 20 to 30 pistils.
