About Potentilla douglasii subsp. douglasii

Potentilla douglasii subsp. douglasii is a perennial herb that forms a thick tuft of erect leaves, each reaching up to 15 centimeters tall. Every leaf is composed of wedge-shaped or rounded leaflets with toothed or lobed edges; the leaflets are most often gray-green and somewhat hairy. The brown or reddish hairy stem can grow up to around 60 centimeters in maximum height, and bears an inflorescence made of several flower clusters. Each flower has small, pointed bractlets located beneath larger sepals that can be green, red, or magenta, plus five petals that range from white to pinkish. At the center of the flower, a ring of ten stamens surrounds a cluster of 10 to 20 small pistils.
