About Posoqueria latifolia (Rudge) Schult.

Posoqueria latifolia (Rudge) Schult. is a shrub or tree that grows 3 to 25 meters tall. It has smooth gray bark and many branches. Its terminal inflorescence holds stalked, elongated tubular flowers adapted for pollination by large moths. These flowers produce nectar, are fragrant, showy, white, and have five petals. The species produces yellow fruits that hold many seeds. It grows in lowland tropical rainforest and cloud forest across Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.
