Porophyllum ruderale (Jacq.) Cass. is an herbaceous annual plant. Its leaves can be used to season food, and its flavor has been described as falling somewhere between arugula, cilantro and rue. It is commonly cultivated in Mexico and South America for use in salsas. When fully mature, this plant reaches approximately 150 cm (5 ft) in height and 90 cm (3 ft) in diameter. It is easy to grow from seed when planted in well-drained soil, and the soil should be allowed to dry out between waterings.
