About Polyura dolon (Westwood, 1848)

Polyura dolon is a large butterfly species. Its wings have concave outer edges, and its hindwings feature two slender tails. The upper side of the wings is creamy white. The forewings have extensive brown markings covering the costal margin, and the apical third of the wing including the inner angle, with a line of white dots present. The hindwings are only marked with submarginal spots and lunules. The reverse side of the wings is white with brown lines. On the forewings, brown lines run along the costal margin and extend from the inner angle to the costal margin. On the hindwings, brown lines curve from the costal edge to the outer edge near the wing angle and run along the submarginal area. This species is distributed in Nepal, Tibet, India, western China, Laos, Burma, and Thailand.
