About Polyporus radicatus Schwein.
Polyporus radicatus Schwein. is a fungus species belonging to the family Polyporaceae. It was first documented as a species new to science in 1832 by German-American botanist Lewis David de Schweinitz. This fungus occurs in North America, including Mexico. It grows on the ground, and it likely develops from buried roots or originates from sclerotia. Its spores are roughly ellipsoid to spindle-shaped, and measure 12–15 by 6–8 micrometers. Polyporus radicatus is inedible.
