Polypogon viridis (Gouan) Breistr. is a species of perennial grass in the true grass family Poaceae, commonly known by the common names beardless rabbitsfoot grass and water bent. This species has a self-supporting growth form, with simple, broad leaves. Individual plants of this species can reach a height of 0.43 meters. Its native range includes southern Europe, Macaronesia, North and East Africa, western and central Asia, India, Yunnan, and Vietnam. It is also a common, well-established neophyte in the United Kingdom.
