About Polymnia canadensis L.

Polymnia canadensis, which is commonly called "bears foot" or "small-flowered leafcup", is easier to identify using features other than its small flowers, which only appear in late summer. This plant grows to a height of 1.5 metres (4.9 ft), and blooms from May through October. It often grows in clustered stands made up of multiple individual plants. Its leaves change shape: lower leaves on the plant are deeply lobed, while upper leaves are simple in shape. The plant’s sap is clear, sticky, and has a pleasant fragrance.
